The Impact of SRA-Programming on Computational Thinking in a Visual Oriented Programming Environment

Abstract Visual programming environments are popular instruments in teaching Computational Thinking (CT) schools today. Applying Sense-Reason-Act (SRA) can influence the development of computational thinking when forcing pupils to anticipate unforeseen their computer programs. SRA-programming originates from tangible robots, but also be equal value visual with on-screen output. The underlying rationale is that a environment using SRA leads more understanding concepts addressed, resulting higher level skill compared without application SRA. Furthermore, it has been hypothesised if events and solve tasks by applying SRA, they will better able complex tasks. To establish characteristic differences measured applied an output, we assessed applicability output as main component execution developed code. This research uses pre-test post-test design reveals significant two treatment conditions. assess CT, Test (CTt) was used. Results show increased concepts, which results increase thinking.
